Studio Krom
Designing an intuitive event overview experience, following Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
For our Industry Project on polarization, Studio Krom asked us to design a concept that could open up conversation around divisive topics — from religion to pineapple on pizza — without feeling preachy or heavy.
We designed Open Line: visitors hang their opinions on a clothesline using clothing items tied to the topic. Following Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, usability testing showed a double clothesline felt cluttered, so we simplified to one line with a universal background, and added a playful "wash care label" swipe gesture to enter each event.
A fun, open, and inviting app concept designed for popups at universities and schools, built to spark real conversation — with room to expand to other locations in the future.
